The idea
Cups & Cakes wishes to set up a fully neurodiverse coffee shop/meeting area for marginalised groups to get together and discuss issues that are relevant to them, All staff and products sold will be from people who have either Autism/adhd or both. We will be providing a monthly baking session for our staff to bake brownies to sell within the coffee shop. Work placements will be provided for young people to gain valuable experience of working. Our staff will undertake some monthly bakery sessions to gain additional skills and to provide goods to sell.
We will hold various group sessions where people can come along, make friends and receive advice on topics that are important to them. We will have a trans/ASD group, LGBTQ+, parents/carers, menopause meetup. The idea behind the groups is to reduce social isolation and encourage people to be able to seek the support that they need in the community.

Why it's a great idea
Providing a safe and inclusive space for those with ASD/ADHD to gain work experience and have an opportunity to gain meaningful employment.
By holding sessions for marginalized groups we are creating an inclusive community where people can come and seek support, advice and meet people, therefore reducing social isolation and building self esteem.
