The idea
Boston Lithuanian Community aims to provide social and educational activities for the people of Boston Borough and work with strategic local, regional and national partners on the consolidation of a daily programme of grassroots community development work on artistic activities and cultural events that offer genuine opportunities to explore cultural differences and similarities with the underlying aim of getting people to better understand each other and ultimately live in a more harmonious, socially inclusive Boston.
Our project proposes a new ideology on how to nurture, grow and ultimately create a more harmonious society. The group has objectives to develop inclusive activities, art and language sessions, social clubs, and traditional events. Boston Lithuanian Community targets to become a key, strategic communications bridge within the local community and establish a transparent and easily accessible method for the improvement of day-to-day community relations.
What we'll deliver
- RENT OF PREMISES AND HALLS for social clubs, art and culture sessions, rehearsals
- TRADITIONAL EVENTS -Easter Together, Traditional Christmas, Easter Together, etc.
- EQUIPMENT - decorations, costumes, prizes, stationary, etc.
- PROMOTION- photographers, video makers, leaflets, refreshments, etc.
- TRAVELLING EXPENSES- volunteer travelling expenses, community trips
- TRAINING - volunteer and sessional worker training, seminars
- SESSIONAL WORKERS- for social clubs and traditional events
Why it's a great idea
The programme will encourage local people to join our supportive community, do creative activities and attend our traditional events. The funding will help local children and adults in our clubs to meet together, do artistic activities, spend time actively in sessions, rehearsals, and events, participate in competitions, and be more creative and creative. It will engage new volunteers who will be supporting our group in the project. They will learn and share their experience with new volunteers and people in the local community. The project will help tackle isolation, loneliness and communication issues. It will also help to promote our group’s work, share our culture and traditions and make new friendships and links.
Steps to get it done

The funding would allow us to run traditional events- inclusive Culture, Art and Traditions programme, cover its operational costs, sessional workers, coordination, volunteer travelling expenses, promotion, training, etc. The fund will support the rent of the premises of our offices where we will run the sessions, and finance the resources and equipment such as needed for art, language and culture sessions and traditional events. Also, the funding will help us to pay for promotion, decorations and refreshments for Come Together Events. We will build stronger relationships and provide an opportunity to network, improve artistic, language, and cultural skills and make new friendships. The funding will allow Boston Lithuanian Community to run the project successfully, and help local people to become more inclusive, happier and healthier.
