Boston Lithuanian Community aims to provide social and educational activities for the people of Boston Borough and work with strategic local, regional and national partners on the consolidation of a daily programme of grassroots community development work on artistic activities and cultural events that offer genuine opportunities to explore cultural differences and similarities with the underlying aim of getting people to better understand each other and ultimately live in a more harmonious, socially inclusive Boston. Our project proposes a new ideology on how to nurture, grow and ultimately create a more harmonious society. The group has objectives to develop inclusive activities, art and language sessions, social clubs, and traditional events. Boston Lithuanian Community targets to become a key, strategic communications bridge within the local community and establish a transparent and easily accessible method for the improvement of day-to-day community relations.

What we'll deliver:

  • RENT OF PREMISES AND HALLS for social clubs, art and culture sessions, rehearsals
  • TRADITIONAL EVENTS -Easter Together, Traditional Christmas, Easter Together, etc.
  • EQUIPMENT - decorations, costumes, prizes, stationary, etc.
  • PROMOTION- photographers, video makers, leaflets, refreshments, etc.
  • TRAVELLING EXPENSES- volunteer travelling expenses, community trips
  • TRAINING - volunteer and sessional worker training, seminars
  • SESSIONAL WORKERS- for social clubs and traditional events

Why it's a great idea:

The programme will encourage local people to join our supportive community, do creative activities and attend our traditional events. The funding will help local children and adults in our clubs to meet together, do artistic activities, spend time actively in sessions, rehearsals, and events, participate in competitions, and be more creative and creative. It will engage new volunteers who will be supporting our group in the project. They will learn and share their experience with new volunteers and people in the local community. The project will help tackle isolation, loneliness and communication issues. It will also help to promote our group’s work, share our culture and traditions and make new friendships and links.

Steps to get it done:

  • Setting project objectives, and defining target outcomes, forming the project team.
