The idea
Culbokie is a village on the Black Isle in the Highlands of Scotland, it has stunning views, a natural woodland but needs a heart. The project is to buy a piece of land in the centre of the village that the Trust can eventually develop creating a village square with community led facilities for the village.
What we'll deliver
- We will purchase land in the centre of the village for community use.
Why it's a great idea
This is a great idea because the community says so! The Trust successfully received funding to commission community consultation, a feasibility and the production of a business plan looking at the support, options and demand for the project. From September to December 2014 our consultants carried out this work for us. The full business plan and feasibility study can be seen on our website at www.culbokiect.org
Steps to get it done
- We need to raise 5% of the purchase price to match 95% grant aid sought.
We also have a Local Giving fundraising page if you would prefer to donate to support the project but if the project is ultimately unsuccessful donations will be applied to other projects in the village. Your donation will be increased by gift aid if you are a taxpayer. Go to www.localgiving.com/culbokiect
