The idea
bhive.community is providing the volunteer coordination hub in the heart of Grantham and in the surrounding area.
This involves receiving requests for assistance from vulnerable isolated clients either directly or via referrals from South Kesteven District Council's (SKDC) Coronavirus hub and matching them to volunteer resources.
We receive referrals of all local volunteers from Wellbeing Lincs and SKDC's hub, verify them, and issue ID cards and recognisable conspicuous vehicle signage.
We plan and organise shopping and delivery to clients and provide credit for those unable to access their money.
Grantham BHive.community is operated by Elloe C.I.C., the innovation and trading subsidiary of South Lincolnshire Blind Society C.I.O. (charity #1182486), in partnership with the South-West Lincolnshire Primary Care Network (PCN) of sixteen GP practices across Grantham and Sleaford, Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) mental health hub and spoke and neighbourhood teams.
What we'll deliver

- Provide remote, moderated, emotional support and reassurance
- Dog walking service for people who need to shield during the pandemic

Why it's a great idea
Ensure, so far as possible, that vulnerable isolated people have access to essential supplies and prescriptions and are not deprived due to lack of access to money.
Organise volunteers efficiently and provide support and resources for them to operate safely.
