Buses4Homeless is a low cost holistic solution to homelessness. We refurbish decommissioned buses into spaces for Eating, Sleeping and Learning in order to re-engage homeless people back into the community. IT'S A 3 MONTH INTENSIVE PROGRAMME TO:- 1) Overcome the issues that lead to them being homeless 2) Teach them Soft and Vocational skills 3) Engage them into Apprenticeships / Further Training 4) Help secure Jobs / create Businesses 5) Re-engage them back into the community BACKGROUND Two years ago, Dan Atkins (founder of Buses4Homeless) discovered a gentleman sleeping rough in a luggage storage compartment of a coach. This distressed Dan immensely. Later that day, he bought a double-decker bus and began refurbishing it into a home for the gentleman. Fast-forward two years, they are now very good friends and gladly the gentleman is back in employment, has a roof over his head and is happy. That got Dan thinking… We can help in this way, but on a much bigger scale.

What we'll deliver:

  • Refurbish 4 x Double Decker Buses into Shelter, Dining & Learning Spaces for Homeless
  • Provide 3 Month Intensive Programmes to engage and empower Homeless back into the community
  • Provide a communal area where the whole community interact and engage with each other for the greater good of humanity.

Why it's a great idea:

Two years ago, Dan Atkins (founder) discovered a gentleman sleeping rough in a luggage storage compartment of a coach. The Buses4Homeless project is looking to raise £150,000 to refurbish 4 buses into spaces for Sleeping, Eating and Learning spaces. Two vehicles will be converted into #Buses4Shelter, sleeping up to 32 homeless people per night. One vehicle will be converted into #Buses4Dining, teaching and providing meals for the guests. The final vehicle will be converted into #Buses4Learning, offering personal development and online vocational courses in order to help equip our Guests with tools to re-engage them into the community.
