The idea
At Thanet Mustangs, we deliver positive mental and physical outcomes for children and young people (CYP) by delivering American Flag Football Training, an inclusive sport that allows girls and boys aged 8 to 17 years old train, develop, play and grow together.
Thanet is an area of multiple deprivation in Kent that is being hit hard by the current cost of living crisis.
For the past two years, coming out of Covid 19 lockdown, we have worked tirelessly to aquire equipment and facilities to provide free sports training sessions to the cyp of this area and have seen first hand the amazing results on their mental health and physical wellbeing.
Now, we need to do MORE.
With your help we plan to continue providing free training sessions, and now add free healthy packed lunches, a warm space for post training for all participants and the opportunity for 16+ year olds to take their BAFCA (British American Football Coaches Association) level One coaching Qualification.
What we'll deliver
- A Minimum of 3x2 hour training sessions per week for 12 Months
- A post training healthy packed lunch for every participant
- A post training warm space for 1 hour
- Provide BAFCA Coaching Level 1 Training for 16+yo
Why it's a great idea

- Provide a post training warm space
- Create up to 10 level 1 coaches
- Recruit volunteers
At the end of July this year, no less than four of our club members have been selected to play for the Team Great Britain Youth Flag Squad :)
This would not have been possible for any of these children without the support of previous Crowdfund Kent fundraising projects...
