The idea
We have teamed up with the local radio station, Mansfield 103.2FM, to become the main sponsor for this year’s King's Mill Hospital Toy Appeal, which relies on businesses and the community to raise money for poorly children on Ward 25 at the hospital.
Our Secret Santa Appeal will run alongside the toy appeal to support other vulnerable people in the district who are suffering due to the pandemic.
How it works:
Make a donation and let us give a gift to someone who may not receive a present for Christmas this year.
We will buy gifts from local businesses who are also struggling due to the pandemic, and our Secret Santa squad will do the rest!
Special thanks go to our partners, Mansfield Children's Centre, who are working with us to distribute gifts to affected families. Visit their Facebook page to find out more about what they are doing to support families in the Mansfield district. www.facebook.com/ChildrensCentreServiceMansfield
What we'll deliver
- Provide gifts to women, men, boys and girls in the Mansfield district.
- Support local businesses by buying directly from them.
- Bring Christmas cheer to those in need.
Why it's a great idea
People who are struggling or might not receive gifts this year will enjoy opening a gift on Christmas Day, knowing that the community came together to help them in their time of need.
It will bring a real sense of community togetherness and spread Christmas cheer to those who may be facing a very bleak Christmas.
Steps to get it done
- Buy gifts and distribute them to those identified by partners to be in need.
This runs as part of the "Bringing Christmas to Mansfield" campaign which also includes a Sponsor a bauble project, which brings Christmas food to vulnerable members of the community, and an online Festive Festival on 28 and 29 November via the council's Facebook page @MyMansfieldUK.
