Preston Opera Production Fund published their Delivery Report!2 years ago
A crowd fund initiative to help Preston Opera put on full theatrical opera performances with orchestra, giving the people of Preston the opportunity to experience operas in their full glory.
Every year Preston Opera puts on a stage production of an opera with full orchestra, principal singers and chorus, together with costumes and theatre set. The Production Fund would aim to support some of the principal singers (many of whom are students) by providing them with travel expenses to rehearsals and performances and also sponsor a number of the semi-professional orchestral players.

Preston Opera Production Fund will benefit to the community by helping ensure Preston Opera can continue to put on opera performances after more than 50 years. It will support musical culture in Preston and the surrounding areas.

I'm delighted to report that Preston Opera's Spacehive project reached its target earlier today. I'd like to thank all of you who supported us so generously and I hope you'll be able to join us in Fulwood Academy at the beginning of June 2024 when we'll be performing Tales of Hoffman. Your support will help ensure we can keep going in future years.

I'm very pleased to let you know that our Preston Opera Production Fund projects under Spacehive has now reached 93% of its target and now there's no doubt that we're going to reach it. I'd like to thank all of you who have contributed. What really matters is not the size of the donations, but the number of people who have made donations. That has unlocked other sources of funding such as that from Lancashire County Council that are only accessible if we can demonstrate genuine community engagement. You have helped us do just that so thank you.
