Little Actors Theatre offers a wide range of community theatre activities. As a Registered Charity many of our community theatre activities offer 50% or full scholarships for low-income families to ensure access for all. Little Actors has taken an office and storage lease in Neston Town Hall, formerly the Post Office. This has the added advantage of props/costume store which was formerly off site. This space will enable the charity to develop the current theatre activities on offer and to create and provide new activities. This would be a partnership arrangement with Neston Town Hall (operated by Neston Town Council). The project also hopes to add some equipment such as sound speakers and lighting to enhance the environment and promote access for new and existing members.

What we'll deliver:

  • Office space
  • Props and costume store
  • Office space for people from the community to meet and plan more inclusive activities
  • Sound and lighting equipment

Why it's a great idea:

Participation in the arts improves health and wellbeing, both physically and mentally. Participants will benefit from the input of industry professionals to guide them to learn new skills. This will give young people the opportunity to perform with enhanced production values and the wider community the chance to see productions. Benefits include building self-esteem, team collaboration, experiencing the arts in the heart of the community, building new friendships, learning new skills as well as enhancing the services on offer. Having the office and storage space in the same building where we hire workshop space, will enhance and develop our offering. The new sound and lighting equipment will help enhance the experience for members and the wider public.

Steps to get it done:

  • Provide more opportunities for the community to meet and be involved in project planning
  • Engage volunteers to improve the internal decor of the office and props/costume store space
  • Offer the space for the community to use to meet to plan their own projects
  • Ensure there are scholarships available to promote access for all regardless of socio economic background
  • Provide sound and light equipment for people to use durng their activities

Collaboration with Neston Town Council and members of the community is central to this project
