The idea
Providing sport opportunities to the local community in High Lane is an expensive challenge. Every year we spend between £2-3K on maintaining the cricket square and outfield. Our income so far this year has been significantly reduced as we have taken no annual subs off our members and our life blood of social events are cancelled. Whilst some support is available, the Corona virus challenge has come at the worst time for our club as we have recently invested heavily in the drainage improvement for the pitch. This brings additional expenses as the grass establishes on top of the normal cycle of mowing and treatment that has to continue. Our groundsmen are super committed but would appreciate any support you can give (however small) to ensure we have a pitch suitable for sport when lockdown is lifted. Thanks so much in advance.
What we'll deliver
- A ground able to support cricket and junior football from September 2020.
- A cricket square which is maintained and able to start competitive cricket when lockdown is lifted.
- A sustainable sports and event venue for High Lane community
Why it's a great idea
Your donations will contribute towards the petrol, fertilizer, weed killer and ground work that a cricket club requires to keep going. It will also support additional maintenance costs we have as outfield establishes following drainage programme
