Supporting vital ongoing ground maintenance at High Lane Cricket Club during a period where club income has been reduced to zero.
Providing sport opportunities to the local community in High Lane is an expensive challenge. Every year we spend between £2-3K on maintaining the cricket square and outfield. Our income so far this year has been significantly reduced as we have taken no annual subs off our members and our life blood of social events are cancelled. Whilst some support is available, the Corona virus challenge has come at the worst time for our club as we have recently invested heavily in the drainage improvement for the pitch. This brings additional expenses as the grass establishes on top of the normal cycle of mowing and treatment that has to continue. Our groundsmen are super committed but would appreciate any support you can give (however small) to ensure we have a pitch suitable for sport when lockdown is lifted. Thanks so much in advance.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Your donations will contribute towards the petrol, fertilizer, weed killer and ground work that a cricket club requires to keep going. It will also support additional maintenance costs we have as outfield establishes following drainage programme

Hi everyone! Just wanted to reassure anyone who may be receiving and email from gocardless or paypal relating to our fund. Your original pledges will now be called in following the end of the fundraising phase. The money is claimed by Direct Debit and then passed onto the club. We will update you on progress in a couple of weeks so you can see the progress we are making on delivering on the promise of improving our ground. Any queries or concerns please let us know at https://www.facebook.com/HighLaneCC.
Amazing... we have been blown away by your generosity and we managed to hit our stretch target of £1K when you add in £200 which went direct to the club. You have made a real difference to our plans for the future to make Middlewood one of the best social and sporting venues in our local area. Thanks from everyone at HLCC ... follow our journey as it continues on our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/HighLaneCC/).
Whoop, 20 people have pledged since fundraising began!
Thanks so much to Simon and everyone at the Bulls Head in High Lane for donating £203 to our COVID campaign. This will make a real difference to covering our costs in ground maintenance in a year with no cricket subs or events. Simon donated 50p for every pizza sold in June .. what a fella and a great local business!!
Thanks so much again for your fantastic support for our campaign to help out on costs of ground maintenance. We are stretching to try and achieve a new target of £1000 by end of the month and really need your support. Your help will also mean we can proceed with planned improvements to our pavilion which had to place on hold due to the pandemic. We have a lot to do before a grand opening in September so please give what you can.
Its humbling to see the club has so many friends who are supporting us. 13 days left and we have reached £555. It would be great if we can all reach £1000 and make a significant contribution towards ground maintenance this year at HLCC. Please share the following with your network and be a hero for us. "I've just pledged to High Lane CC Corona Virus Support Fund on Spacehive. Check it out, and if you want to see it happen, please make a pledge. www.spacehive.com/HLCCCV"
