The Hut on the Green, in Gosforth, will offer classes, workshops, talks and cultural events in art, craft and design to residents of Gosforth and the surrounding area.
Mushroom Works CIC is set to open a vibrant creative arts hub in central Gosforth, aiming to be the heart of community creativity and inclusivity. This hub will offer a rich palette of activities, from life drawing and jewellery making to a children's art club and a horticulture and environmental program, welcoming individuals of all skill levels. Designed to spark creativity and foster connections, it will be a dynamic space for learning, sharing, and inspiration. Located in central Gosforth, the hub is poised to enrich the local cultural landscape, encouraging collaboration and boosting the local economy. Opening in summer 2024, this project is for everyone who believes in the transformative power of creativity and learning. We invite you to join us in bringing this vision to life, contributing to a vibrant cultural hub where everyone can explore their creativity without limits.

Why it's a great idea:
The art hub will provide a diverse range of creative activities and workshops, it will foster a vibrant cultural scene, offering new opportunities for creative expression and learning in Gosforth. It will be a space that welcomes individuals from all walks of life, the hub will strengthen community bonds, encouraging collaboration and mutual support. Those living nearby will gain a valuable cultural asset within walking distance, enhancing their quality of life and providing a safe, inclusive space for creative pursuits. Excellent public transport links will also enable those form further afield to attend also. The hub will offer family-friendly activities and workshops, providing a supportive environment for families to engage in creative activities with their children or independently. With programs focused on ecology and horticulture, the hub will promote environmental values, sustainability and offering educational opportunities about the environment .
Steps to get it done:
We need your help to smarten up the property and paint a mural on the outside, build a new website for course info and bookings, make the property secure by fitting new shutters and external lighting.
