The idea
COVID-19 means there is currently no recreational cricket being played and therefore no income to the club.
What the virus doesn’t do is stop the grass from growing and the machinery needing to be insured. A small group of volunteers are continuing to maintain the recreation field so it is a space for all our residents to exercise.
All the work is done by a band of volunteers but we still need to pay for fuel etc.
ECB are kindly going to donate £100 to this fund once we reach £100 of our target.
What we'll deliver
- The recreation field will be cut and maintained so people can use as a space to exercise
- The grass around the play area will be cut and maintained ready for reopening
- The cricket square will be maintained so it is ready when cricket is back up and running.
Why it's a great idea
The project will mean the recreation field is available to all to use as an exercise or meeting Space during these difficult times and will be prepared for cricket when recreational cricket recommences.
Being able to cover some of our costs means we will be in a position to continue providing cricket once lockdown is over.
Steps to get it done
- Field maintained weekly
- Cricket Square kept in good order on a regular basis
- Play area cut and strimmed before reopening.
