The idea
Last year, Right Up Our Street brought Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon to Doncaster Minster in the week long phenomenon DN Festival of Light. On our grand opening, we had a one off spectacular ‘DN Light Night’ which lit up not only the grounds of the Minster but also the faces of our audiences - with interactive light installations and performances. This year we'd love to do it ALL again but we need your help!
We are now fundraising to bring Doncaster another DN Light Night. Every donation will go towards scheduling art and activities that will make the event even better (and brighter) than last year! As a thank you to all of our backers, you will be given the first opportunity to secure your entrance to the Minster on Light Night, ensuring you have the full experience of the night that could not happen without your help.
What we'll deliver
- Install a minimum of 5 art works in the grounds of Doncaster minister
- Create catering offers for local businesses
- Offer art activities to communities and families
- Install a breathtaking audio visual, immersive light installation inside Doncaster
- Minster accessible for 5 nights
Why it's a great idea
The DN Festival of Light is Right Up Our Street’s winter festival, it celebrates the diversity of our town by bringing different communities together in one space to engage in the arts and culture. Last year over 16,000 people walked through the doors of the Minster to see the Moon. If we are successful in this campaign, we'd like to supersede last years magic light wonderland and bring an even better DN Light Night to Doncaster’s doorstep.
Steps to get it done
- We will hold a Light Festival in the on the evening of the 22nd November 2019 in the ground of Doncaster Minster
Right Up Our Street is a network of people working across the borough of Doncaster to make art and performance happen in surprising and exciting ways.
