Working with our Council, other Partners + Members, we aim to create 5 flexible performance spaces, within 5 public Libraries to host 60+ work/life/cultural experiences for the local Community!
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
We are working closely with the libraries and are waiting for final sign off for the project to go ahead. We'll keep you updated! Wimbletech CIC was founded to help Public Libraries through transforming under-utilised into affordable space for local entrepreneurs, within which they could grow their businesses. The 'Wimbletech Presents' project is designed to further underpin the long-term viability of Public Libraries, by creating a new, sustainable service to generate additional income, footfall and awareness. Within each of our 5x Library Partners, we will cost-effectively create a professional performance space, 'Presenting' a programme of events, designed for and delivered by the Local Community We aim to bring together the local Network of singers, poets, dancers, performers, speakers, actors... and offer a platform, within their local library, on which they can perform & shine :) All money pledged towards the project will be split equally across the 5 locations.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We are huge believers in the value of our Local Libraries... as inclusive destinations within which a diverse set of individuals and groups can learn, grow, develop, shine... and now, Perform! Library spaces are already in the hearts of our local Communities and through effective, innovative partnerships, are becoming even more valuable to the Communities that they serve. The more visitors, the more likely these special spaces are to remain open. The 'Wimbletech Presents' project creates a venue / destination for local performers... for cultural expression, sharing, connection + growth... in creating a cost-effective, professional performance space, hosting a wide range of Community performances.. it underpins income, library footfall, relevance + value... the Library, local performers, groups, poets, singers... and all those that attend, enjoy, and experience any / all events benefit.. value, emotion & experience beyond the traditional book :)
