We have started a charity to provide a safe space for neurodivergent people in Kent. We aim to imrpove the mental health and wellbeing of adults and children who use our services.
During our startup year (Apr 24 to Mar 25), we are looking for funds to run play sessions for neurodivergent children and young people in Kent. We will also be running peer support groups for adults with autism and ADHD, and for parents of neurodivergent children. To run these, we need to cover costs including: -venue hire -cost of equipment for activities (e.g. craft materials, sensory toys) We also need to cover day-to-day costs to function safely and effectively, including: -DBS checks -insurance -ICO registration
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Our start up projects will bring neurodivergent people in Kent together to reduce social isolation and improve mental health. Peer support is a highly impactful method of sharing strategies for looking after mental health, and encouraging social connections. Play sessions will bring together both children who may be isolated, and parents who may feel like they are struggling on their own. Our team can offer emotional support and advice to neurodivergent individuals seeking mental health support or trying to access diagnostic services in Kent.
