In our Temple building we want to build a kitchen to cook for homeless people and want to fit a lift to bring elderly people to the day centre on the 1st floor.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
We are awaiting formal permission from the landowner. In the unlikely event that this is not secured, no money will be taken from backers. There are so many homeless people in our area, sleeping on the roadside without food. We want to give them much needed food, and for that we need a commercial kitchen in which we could cook for at least 100 people a day. Many good people donate groceries to us but our kitchen is far too small and not sufficient to cater for this fantastic purpose. If we can procure the facilities, we have volunteers for cooking and serving the food. However, we are on the 1st floor so we need a lift to be fitted if we are to provide this for them. We also need some furniture so they can sit comfortably and enjoy each other's company. Please help us, just £2 would go a long way!
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
In addition to the kitchen, we want to create a welcoming community centre. There are many non english speaking elderly people in our area, sitting at home with nowhere to go because of the language barrier. We want to bring them to our centre at least once in the week and give them some quality time. Here they can chat with others, play some games and have some food and enjoy their day. This is a great idea because it will bring happiness to so many people, and will make a big difference in so many people's life.
