The Hammersmith & Fulham Youth Council together with Young H&F are planning a huge ceremony for this year's Youth Achievement Awards! The event will be a fantastic celebration of the diverse talents, abilities and achievements of young people across H&F.
It's only the second ever ceremony, and we want to see it become a regular annual date in the calendar which young people can look forward to every year! We think our young people are amazing - it's time we shout about it!
However, we can't do this without generous support to make the event happen. All costs will go directly towards putting on a fun, special event for young people and their guests.
Anyone can nominate a young person in one of 9 categories, including
Young person who has made a significant contribution to others
Young leader
Achievement in education
Young volunteer
Young artist of the year
Young innovator of the year
Community champion
Overcoming adversity
Green champion
What we'll deliver:
- A glittering award ceremony to make our young nominees feel really special!
- Food, drinks, decorations and venue for the Youth Achievement Awards
Why it's a great idea:
Young H&F work with over 80 youth organisations locally. We know that there are hundreds of incredible young people, working hard to achieve creative, innovative things, some of whom face great challenges in reaching their goals. It's all to easy to listen to negative stories about young people in the press. We know that young people need opportunities to have the spotlight on them for all the right reasons and to have their successes put centre stage. We want to change the narrative about young people in H&F, and believe that this award ceremony is a great place to start.
Steps to get it done:
- First planning meeting with the youth council
- Three young performers booked to perform on the night
- Nominations process open
