Help us provide, and build, a dedicated face-to-face support service on keeping every young person safe online during these 'digital' times.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
York Pi Jam has provided free digital making activities to the people of York for over 3 years now. York has a lack of a dedicated online safety support service, and we want to build one. Now education and leisure is spent online, especially during the Coronavirus lockdown, we need a service to be there in case things go wrong. Online Sexual Abuse is on an increase, and grooming is affecting more children than ever, yet a service like this is overlooked. We've already made a start on an online resource bank on advice and information. Visit it at: www.yorkesafe.co.uk
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The young people, and parents, of York will have a service to go to, and they will be able to get the dedicated support and advice they need. Online abuse and bullying shouldn't be the norm. Support groups will be open to everyone, even if you aren't affected by online abuse, allowing everyone to get advice and talk to other parents.
Steps to get it done:
This will massive support local mental health services and the local young people.
