The XVI Bars Programme's main objective is to create a "one stop" Arts Hub where community organisations and businesses can seek services provided from young people ages 16-24. See link for additional info: XVI Bars Launch Info.

The idea is to prove to our creative driven young participants that Art can be turned into revenue, while also developing their team management skills, improving professionalism in each one creates a network within Leicester that bridges the gap between young people and working adults.
Our teams will be approaching charities, organisations and small businesses to offer their services. They will work under the direction of professionals within the field to ensure the highest quality of work. This will only build and maintain working relationships between our participants and the many establishments around the city and surrounding areas. When our participants leave the programme, they will be more confident, experienced and ready to pursue their life interests and career paths on their own.
Currently we have creative individuals who avoid establishments like The Job Centre because they dread being forced to work in an environment or position that does nothing to utilise their artistic skills. Many end up unemployed and mentally frustrated feeling like they aren't a part of the community and have nothing to offer to themselves or others. Art is something that we all consume whether we do intentionally or subconsciously. The Art that we consume from advertisements, beautifully decorated food establishments, television, music etc. is provided by individuals just like them. It's time to pull our creative young people from the gutters and give them a real chance at life doing exactly what they love.
XVI Bars is on a mission to give this area of need the attention it requires to suceed. But we need the community to support us not only financially, but physically.
