Woodstock kitchen will be a place of learning how to get the best out of the food that is locally grown and locally sourced. It will be that link between different cultures, promoting community cohesion through healthy eating. We want to have 5 cooking stations where up to 10 beneficiaries at a time can learn how to cook healthy African and Caribbean meals. There will be tables in an adjoining restaurant available for paying customers to reserve and enjoy delicious food and drink.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Our project will provide beneficiaries with culinary skills that will improve their own health and wellbeing as well as their chances of employment. Community cohesion through making available dishes from Africa and Caribbean countries that residents of Walsall can try out. Our project will cater hundreds of meals for the community feeding the families of children receiving free school meals. We will deliver meals to local customers giving them the opportunity to try Caribbean and African cuisine. We will work with volunteers.
Steps to get it done:
We will aim to expand by having branches in different parts of the Black Country.
