We'd like to crowdfund a modest, but accurate thermal imaging camera for short term loans and coaching in our community to identify heat loss in local houses and premises for energy conservation.
This project is preparing for fundraising. Click Like to show your support, or Follow for updates on this project's journey.
We intend to encourage crowdfunders to donate to the purchase the community asset of a thermal imaging camera ~£300. Funders will get the first opportunity to use the camera if they wish on a first funded choose calendar slot basis. Once the funders have had the opportunity to use the camera, we will offer it's use to the wider community on a donations basis, also forming the initial basis of a community tools library for local sustainability. The scheme will be organised and run by volunteers in Winterbourne and Frome Valley Environmental Group
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The opportunity for local community members to identify and fix areas of their house where heat is being lost. The goal is to reduce heating costs and therefore energy use for cheaper bills and help mitigate the climate emergency.
Steps to get it done:
We intend to use this project as a proof of concept for further community sharing ideas.
