We need to fund new piece of machinery for the Cricket Club - a new Roller
This project is preparing for fundraising. Click Like to show your support, or Follow for updates on this project's journey.
Newent Cricket Club is a thriving club situated between Gloucester and the Forest of Dean. We boast excellent playing facilities and a great social, family friendly atmosphere. We currently have 5 teams - two Mens Senior Teams, one Ladies Team and 3 Junior Teams - All Stars, U11s and U15s. The Mens 1st Team were promoted to Division 3 last year and have won all their games so far this season. BUT...!! Our trusty, very old Roller (used to roll flat the wicket) has died and gone to machinery heaven. The cost for a new one (approx. £10,000) far exceeds the funds we currently have. SO... We need your help! PLEASE, if you are able and willing, could you donate to our Crowdfunding campaign to raise the £10,000 we need for a new roller that will see us into the next decade and beyond. We thank you all in advance.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
In order for a cricket wicket to be at its best condition - flat, hard and ready for batters and bowlers to play their best game, the ground needs to be rolled frequently with a heavy roller. At present, as our old roller has died, we are using an ancient manual roller, needing 4 or 5 people to move it up and down! The new mechanical Roller will mean only one person is needed to operate it and will leave a MUCH better finish on the pitch. This will benefit all 5 teams who use the two pitches at our grounds - The Three Ashes.
Steps to get it done:
We thank you for any help and support you can offer us.
