An app to inform people of nearby 'water stations'. People buy water bottles on the go because one can be purchased from every corner shop. The problem with refillable bottles is that people don't know when they will be able to refill their bottle next. If they carry a large bottle size, it is too heavy. If they carry a normal bottle, it runs out and they need to purchase a water bottle again. People don't want to spend time looking for a point where they can fill their water bottle, especially if they don't know how far they'll have to go before they find a point. If this information is available via an app, people will find it cheaper and more convenient to use a refillable bottle than buying bottled water. Furthermore, if houses and restaurants opt in to be 'water points' , they can contribute to the community and the environment, by offering to let people fill their bottle from their restaurant or house. This can create an environment in which it is easy to use refillable bottles.

Why it's a great idea:

Globally humans buy a million plastic bottles per minute, 91% of which are not recycled. One way to incentivise sustainable is to make it more convenient and cost effective than non-sustainable living. The problem with current apps on the market is the shortage of refill points-reliance on businesses. My idea would be different in that it would allow households to serve as water points and foster a sense of community to solve a problem. This would allow for more water points and make the app effective.
