The W12 Festival is an opportunity for the community in Wormholt and White City to come together and have a fun day in the park. Taking place on the first weekend of September, the festival will have... - A performance stage for local talent - Kids zone with sports, activities and games - Community stalls for local groups - Health zone with information and workshops - Food stalls and vendors for local businesses The event is the highlight of the W12 cultural calendar and returned last year after a hiatus due to Covid. We had over 1,000 visitors to the event and partnered with Imperial College, QPR in the Community Trust, make:good and the Friends of Wormholt Park. This year, we are building on these partnerships and are expecting over 5,000 attendees. W12Together is a resident led partnership and is part of the Big Local scheme. We are organising this years event.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The W12 Festival is an annual event that is very popular with the residents of Wormholt and White City. We received so much positive feedback from our attendees last year. The festival benefits the local residents of Wormholt and White City in many ways. It is a fun, free, family day out in the park with lots to do and get involved in. But the event has something for all ages, whether you are interested in music, sport, science, food, climate change, health and local history. It brings the community together to meet and share ideas, allowing W12 to be a happy, healthy and unified community. The event also strengthens the community organisations in W12, allowing them to reach new service users, recruit volunteers and link up with other services. Similarly, local businesses and artists gain a local platform to showcase what they are doing.
