We will be bringing the Vivary Park Bandstand to life with live music performed by young musicians from Somerset, and everyone is welcome
What we'll deliver:
- Encourage the public to enjoy the stunning Vivary Park in Taunton including the Victorian bandstand
- Promote live music as a vital aspect of our culture
- Promote the artist Victoria Ward who has provided the main image
- Provide musical entertainment to passers-by as they stroll, cycle, or scoot through the park
- Give students from Hestercombe Centre for Young Musicians a platform for performance
- Raise awareness of Hestercombe Centre for Young Musicians
Why it's a great idea:
This project is important because it will provide musical entertainment to the general public in a wonderful open space, as well as give young musicians a platform for performance. It is important to keep music live and the Hestercombe Centre for Young Musicians wishes to promote live music as well as raise awareness about the Centre.
Steps to get it done:
- Book one of our tutors to accompany students at the piano
- Book the Vivary Park Bandstand (provide PL Ins Cert & Risk Assessment)
- Organise digital piano and music stands to be delivered to the Bandstand
- Publicise the event through newspaper, radio, social media, and email
- Devise a poster for publicity and organise the printing of the same
- Receive permission from artist Victoria Ward to use her painting, mentioning her website: victoriawardart.co.uk/
