Let's make a new use of the old chimney on Hanbury Street! Get a warning of when rain is on it's way by seeing an umbrella popping up from the chimney.

We would like to transform the old chimney on 66 Hanbury Street to a live forecaster! When the first drops of rain are hitting the ground a giant umbrella will pop up from the chimney.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We love the idea of making dead space come to live again. With a community of over 600 people working across the street looking over at the chimney everyday, this would not only be a useful tool to get a heads up when to bring the umbrella, but also reflect the creative spirit in Spitafields.
Steps to get it done:
Second Home is a creative workspace and cultural venue, bringing together diverse industries, disciplines and types of social businesses. Spacehive is one of the companies based here and this idea is the product of a unique collaboration in-between people and businesses in the Second Home community brainstorming ways to improve the local neighbourhood.
