We could use the performance area for shows by our learning disabled service users during the summer and it could also be used by other groups in the area who are interested though we would be happy to take on the responsibility of managing the space. It would be a great way to bring the local community together on a regular basis for performances and events.

What we'll deliver:

• Set up a bandstand area which can be closed off for security when not in use
• Set up dressing rooms for performers
• Set up lighting and run electric cabling out to the area
• Put in raised flower beds to make the area look pretty

Why it's a great idea:

This would be a great way to bring the local community together on a regular basis for showcases, performances and festivals. Since we have moved to Perivale we have seen that the area is used as an impromptu stage during the Perifest fireworks festival. This would make the facility more permanent and we would be happy to manage it and organise a summer festival which could include performances by other groups across Ealing and the surrounding area. It could be available for a regular music event during the summer. This area could also be a resource to local groups looking for performance venues for other events.

Steps to get it done:

• Hire a surveyor to draw up plans
• Tender for a contractor who can manage the job and subcontract it
• Draw up a proposal for managing and promoting the space in the short and long-term
• Survey the local area to see what kinds of performances people would like to put on at the outdoor stage
• Work with our learning disabled members and service users to decorate the stage when completed.

We have experience working with the council's surveyors and contractors to set up our Community Arts Centre. We are already in touch with these people and have a good working relationship with them, which will help us execute the project efficiently working in partnership with the council.
