What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Research has shown that involving children in various programmes which enable them to interact with other children whilst equipping them with various soft and hard skills positively impacts their lives. It teaches them life and social skills whilst they make new friends. Participants will be able to choose either TV or Music or both. Each class will be taught by individuals who are passionate about the subject areas and have a wide range of experience. As an added bonus, the participants will also be taught life skills usually not taught in schools including Money Management and how to secure a job within their desired industry. At the end of the programme, there will be a showcase open to the whole community. Participants will be able to showcase their work be it a song or a short film or documentary to their family and friends. Each participant will be given a full copy of their work which they can use for their desired purposes.
Steps to get it done:
The TV aspect of the programme aims to teach young people the importance of verifying the information they read or watch whilst introducing them to the fun and practical skills which could help them seek successful careers as Editors, Presenters, Directors, Producers, Videographers etc. It also aims to equip them with the skills which are being sort after by top broadcasting companies including BBC, Channel 4, Hardcash Productions and ITV. Students will also get the opportunity to visit to Live TV Studio where they will be able to watch a live recording of a show and learn the various elements which go into broadcasting a live show to over 200 countries worldwide.
