We would like a selection of activities and apparatus that the children could play on to encourage them to be brave, play together as a team but also play on their own. We would like to encourage children to have healthy lifestyles by being fit and well. By making exercise fun the children are more likely to indulge in the activities and have fun with their friends as a result. Most of our children live in dwellings that don't have outdoor space and the local green spaces are not very welcoming. We would like our children to partake in fun activities that they otherwise would not be able to, which will encourage them to want to be fit and healthy and make good lifestyle choices. If we have these facilities we would be happy to share with the local community.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We have a similar apparatus selection for our KS1 and EYFS children, and they thoroughly enjoy play time as a result. This project is aimed at the KS2 children as they don't have any apparatus or facilities other than a playground and a field. From year 3 children start to make independant choices and we would like to encourage them to make healthy lifestyle choices by partaking in exercise, we are already a healthy school with lunchtime meal choices. This project will encourage those children with special needs an opportunity to learn through play and play with their peers. The whole school will benefit from the project as they move from KS1 into KS2. Few of our children attend sports clubs outside of the school environment due to financial constraints and lack of healthy living knowledge, we would like to give our children as many opportunities as we can within the school.
