We are transforming the entrance area of our new property so it can become a gardening club to combat loneliness and it will allow access for those who are disabled or elderly struggling with mobility

The current entrance is laid to slabs, slippery and hard to access the front door because of four steep large steps from the North Hill entrance. At Age Concern we develop clubs to combat loneliness so the idea is to replace the steps and entrance area with a graduated slope for better access and transform the entrance so it can be used for a mixture of a gardening club run by volunteers and outside seating for the Activity and Advice Centre Cafe which is opening. We all have experience of a parent or grandparent moving into older years and often experiencing extreme loneliness. Gardening is a popular past time and alongside this our entrance needs to be more easily accessible to all. Every penny of your money will go directly to this project and we will keep everyone updated through SpaceHive, our Social Media, Website and of course those who are local can drop in and see the transformation first hand. We need your help to make this project come alive.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Whilst we will be having multiple new clubs and activities in the Age Concern Cafe this is a club which involves being outside. The building we are in is a beautiful grade II listed building dating back to the mid 1700’s and we aim to bring it to new life. As well as this you will be helping to provide an area which allows a club to run which combats loneliness and improves accessibility for all.
Steps to get it done:
If you are a gardening fan and want to consider being a part of the project we welcome hearing from you.
