Paying for materials to advertise the launch of the Tollcross Community Hub, a advice and info centre in partnership with Citizens Advice
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
Tollcross Community Action Network is working with Citizens Advice Edinburgh to launch the Tollcross Community Hub. This service will provide free information about local support services and adivce on benefits, debts, housing, legal issues etc. We are a network of individuals and organisations living and working in Tollcross Edinburgh and we are looking for funds to help us promote the advice service to local people. This will include: online advertising, printed materials, signage and other materials for the launch of the service in July 2017. You can find out more about our work here or follow us on twitter
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
In 2014, two pieces of community research carried out by the Adult Learning Project and Central Church explored the concerns of people living and working in the Tollcross area. This found that issues such as housing, local services, employment and supporting older people in the community were important to residents and that there was no Citizens Advice or other information services in the immediate local area. This project is a partnership between several organisations and has the potential to have a hugely positive impact on the well being of local people. It will also provide volunteering opportunities and a place for residents to come together.
Steps to get it done:
We are a very new and small organisation. Paying for materials to advertise the Hub might not seem like an important project but we know that promotion of the service is key to its success. You will be helping us start to create a thriving community centre and service
