Extend and refurbish the pavilion to increase its accessibility and make it suitable for use by a wide variety of community groups
The project will create new changing facilities that will make it more 'girl and women' friendly and help encourage increased participation in both cricket and Rounders via our partnership with Thornes Sharks Rounders club. We will also create a new meeting room and activity space that will help us develop a new range of sports and healthy lifestyle activities for children and young people. It will also help us deliver coach education and training to encourage more people to become involved in sports leadership The facility will also be available for use by local groups and agencies for meetings and training

Why it's a great idea:
The aim is to make the club more inclusive, to boost opportunities for girls and women, black and minority ethnic groups and children and young people. There will be a particular emphasis on working with agencies and organisations locally to promote participation in sport and healthy lifestyles.

VolunteerWe are a successful cricket cricket club running 3 senior and 6 junior cricket teams. We also provide school holiday coaching courses, run schools festivals and host cricket for Yorkshire veterans and junior age group teams.
However we are expanding our role as a provider and enabler of other sports and non sports activities in the local community
Project Owner: Wakefield Thornes Cricket Club The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
