The Untold Story is a series of biographies and documentary films on outstanding community leaders to help raise the aspirations of the new generation. The first in the series, a biography of the current Mayor of Barking and Dagenham was launched on 11th April 2019 at the Barking Town Hall.

What we'll deliver:

• Give copies of published biographies to young people
• Organize screenings of documentary films
• Organize talk and discussion forums

Why it's a great idea:

Young people need positive role models to look up to. This project brings to life real life experiences of outstanding leaders that young people can look up to and help raise their aspirations.

Steps to get it done:

• Writing the biographies and producing the documentary films and then getting it various youth groups and schools.

The first part of the Untold Story series, a Biography on Cllr Sanchia Alasia, has already received positive feedback from community leaders and young people alike who have received a copy of the book. We are hoping to print more copies to give them out to young people.
