It's about getting residents talking to each other and providing the opportunity for the regular supporters of the project to talk about how beneficial the Loop has been for them. To quote from one resident who has discovered latent talents of upcycling furniture "I am transforming this stool, and this stool is transforming me". The Family fun day will be provide a good feel factor on the estate to combat some of the more negative feelings raised by residents. It will provide an opportunity for a few more people to get involved. We will run a give and take day which will give residents to get rid of unwanted and previously loved stuff and maybe find another treasure or two. There will be lovely food and refreshments provided including home made food from some of our great cooks living on the estate, upcycling workshops and music .
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
It is a welcome morale boosting great fun event for all ages living on the Samuel Lewis Estate. It brings people together, especially those living on their own and who knows what may happen when people start talking about future ideas for the estate.
