Giving people the opportunity to imagine, fund & create projects that bring their local area to life
We want to generate work for local actors and freelance theatre workers who have been unable to find work due to theatres being shut. We want to create as many jobs as possible without having to spend on anything superfluous. We don't need sets or furniture but we need talented actors, inventive creatives and an outdoor space. The show is theatre in its simpliest form and the Bombed out Church is the most magical, special place and the perfect venue to bring the people of Liverpool together to celebrate the return of live open air theatre. We want to deliver hope and the sense that better times are just within in reach by giving the audience a right good giggle.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The show will generate work for local actors, freelance theatre workers who have been unable to work due to the pandemic. The benefits of laughter and joy in these times cannot be underestimated and this show is designed to do that... make laughter and bring joy. We can be together and share the unique experience that theatre in its simplest form can offer. With audience numbers stretching over five weeks it will bring business to the local communities. We will utilise a very special building in the heart of the City and fill it with hope and laughter.
Steps to get it done:
This is a project that has enormous benetfit to the communities of Liverpool. It provides creative content and uses an iconic landmark for scenery. It will bring families and friends together where they can share stories, drinks and enjoy a performance with known local talent doing what they do best... entertaining.
