The studio's mission is to encourage & assist rethinking throwing away old/broken/unloved items by renewing them in one of the following ways where possible/practical/desirable: - REPAIR/make good - REUSE in another way by UPCYCLING into a different object - REDISTRIBUTE if not wanted to others or could use it, so RECYCLING Summary Mission = RETHINK WASTE

We need to reduce waste & rethink our throw-away culture because tomorrow's future is today's making. By developing local community initiatives to support this we can work together to bring about a major change in how society thinks about waste.
Steps to get it done:
For the model to thrive we would need to ask for nominal voluntary donations for those using the service to continue to fund materials & operating costs.

VolunteerI'm a local jewellery deigner/maker & visual artist who is totally passionate about re & upcycling & have been involved with many unpaid community projects promoting waste reduction. These have included creating a mural for a community yarden with donated paints, an upcycling chair project for the NLWA waste shop as well as creating an art installation in collaboration with the public for The Hidden River festival in Harringey.
I've run workshops remaking old jewellery into new designs as well as creating my own collections from found objects & abandoned jewellery & like to think this continually promotes the idea of rethinking waste.
