The Preloved Project is a community initiative that helps vulnerable families. We have found an locally available local warehouse unit and hope to secure funding to establish a Preloved Hub.

We operate on referral from established organisations and charities to reach vulnerable families and people in need. There is no charge for any of our services & we provide care packages of clothing, shoes, toys and books, mostly second hand items that have been thoroughly cleaned, and refreshed to look their best. The service we offer is unique because we have a vast array of stock readily available for immediate response. In cases where someone has fled a difficult situation with nothing, we can provide a quick turnaround to ensure they are not struggling without. For us this was an essential & heart-breaking element of why we were so driven to start the Preloved Project. With everyone having been at home this last year due to lockdown…even when things felt a bit tough, we both had a warm place to live, enough food, plenty of toys and books to entertain our kids. The thought that many families were barely coping and struggling to make ends meet is our motivation to do what we do.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Many families that were barely coping before the coronavirus outbreak are now struggling to make ends meet. As lockdown extended, we became busier and the demand for support became greater. The referrals we receive often have very little or in some cases nothing at all and truly appreciate their Preloved Care Packages. Allowing us to upscale our operations will mean we can accept more donations, more referrals, and help more families in need.
Steps to get it done:
If we are able to secure a premises, not only can we accept more donations - encouraging recycling and easing the strain on local charity shops, we can assist more families in the Barnet borough with care packages, and begin to provide community services such as a drop in mornings, coffee and cake for those in need of company and a chat, and classes/fun sessions/bookswaps for those who may not be able to afford them.
