During this project we will design and make an art installation representing and celebrating communities, we will also sell products that have been made by our participants. This will be showcased at Alexandra Palace summer festival in August. We provide a space and a goal to work towards to encourage peer to peer learning alongside practical industry experience. This is all with one aim in mind; getting more underrepresented communities into creative employment. The tent will provide a space in which communities can mingle and enjoy a culturally diverse space which will encourage conversations, networking and sharing experiences.

What we'll deliver:

  • Getting unemployed people into work
  • Creating an installation space
  • Bringing art installations to the wider audience

Why it's a great idea:

The project is a great idea because our main focus is to celebrate and represent diversity. This will be done by producing an art installation as well as giving participants the opportunity to collaborate, be a part of something and gain real practical industry experience. We will be giving participants a chance to work on their skills giving them the chance to explore and make mistakes in a supportive environment. The installation will be made out of as much recycled materials as possible, working with our contacts in the Chocolate Factories in Wood Green, and upcycling them with new materials to make original products.

Steps to get it done:

  • Buying materials needed to upcycle products
  • Buy props to dress the tent
  • Buy the tent
