'Inspire' is a 6 week course for young people aged 15 -19 living in RBWM who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). Aim: To motivate them to either get back into education, find training or work. Helping young people to discover what they want to do in the future and enable them to set realistic, attainable goals to help them down the path towards achieving it. The course will give basic skills and practical support to build their confidence. It will cover topics such as: 'What motivates me?' 'What is employability and how can I improve mine?' 'How to keep a job and progress in it'. At the end of the course the young people will get a certificate from RBWM Youth Service for a successful completion of the course.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Recent figures show a significant rise over the past 2 years in young people who are NEET in RBWM. The NEET figure in 2015 was approximately 4% and it has since risen to 5.4%. The ‘Not known’ figures have also risen from approximately 9.5% in 2015 to approximately 16% in 2016. As a result of these increases RBWM have the 3rd highest percentage of NEET young people within the South East We would like to help these numbers go down by targeting young people in our community and inspiring the to get a job or education
