We believe it is not right that feeling clean should be a luxury or a privilege for anyone in our society, yet many are living in poverty and cannot afford to stay clean.

How we work? Products are donated, collected, sorted and distributed to our network of community partners - a mix of organisations, charities and schools - who support those of us pulled into poverty. 1. Collect People and businesses in the locality collect and donate products. Brands and retailers also give us unused or repackaged products. 2. Drop Off Products are taken to Hygiene Bank drop off locations in the local area. 3. Sort Volunteers collect and sort donations. 4. Box Up Products are repackaged and sorted according to the different needs of our community partners. 5. Deliver Volunteers load their cars and take donations to local community partners. These are local organisations, services, charities and projects working to support children, families and individuals in need. 6. Distribute Our community partners distribute the donated products to their clients and service users.

What we'll deliver:

  • We will rent a storage unit for a year in Tower Hamlets,we will be able to accept more donations from services & brands.
  • We will purchase new hygiene products and deliver them to individuals, families, schools & local organisations.

Why it's a great idea:

Many people locked in poverty or those who find themselves in times of crisis often experience restricted options. This leaves them caught between being able to heat their home, pay their rent, buy food or keep clean. Hygiene poverty can be shaming, humiliating and excluding and can result in social isolation. It can lead to a lack of confidence and can negatively affect good health and mental well-being which can impact early childhood development, learning, employability and social interaction.

Steps to get it done:

  • to store hygiene products and bulk donations at a rented storage unit in Tower Hamlets.
