The Fashion Front is a Fashion show based in Bristol that showcases the work produced by marginalised groups from around the city. Each year the project aims to benefit different groups so that more people are given the opportunity to access the arts. Last year saw a collection made by women going through the criminal justice system and this year workshops are going ahead with young people suffering from mental health conditions. Local designers are also be preparing their latest collections to showcase at this glamorous one night show. The idea behind this project is to create a platform for those who would not otherwise be able to access it.

What we'll deliver:

  • Continue to run creative workshops with marginalised groups.
  • Pay for staging for the annual event.
  • Buy fabric to use in the workshops to create a collection for the catwalk.

Why it's a great idea:

The project benefits a broad cross section of society. It works with marginalised groups, local designers and industry professionals. It also offers the opportunity for individuals starting out in creative sectors such as photography and modelling to network in the industry and add a great wealth of material to their portfolios. The show is a heart-warming event that captures the creativity and talent that is held in our society today. Bristol is bursting with this amazing wealth of skill and Fashion Front is a way to showcase this work. It also provides access to the arts for groups who would not normally be able to engage in this kind of activity, working with women going through the criminal justice system and young people experiencing mental health conditions. This project is an inclusive haven that welcomes talent from every area and encourages confidence and growth in people’s ability.
