The Brixton Artist Network Development a local voluntary project.
Founded in 1997 The BAND as delivered a wide range of community based social issue, projects for Brixton.
Assisting charitable causes but mainly helping a diverse mix-cultural hub of young teens and adults to work together in their creative fields and organizing live music arts and networking events.
It as never been funded and now since the economy crisis as just a Facebook network presence. It needs to go live and have its own website and create more of its popular projects for the community which helped to reduce crime and give people especially the young vulnerable a opportunity to feel accepted and appreciated in their fields. I had two motto's for the project - The BAND forever expanding and i always said it was the original X-factor without competition - everyone was a winner.
The network worked within all creative arena's - music sound vision arts etc ..it as delivered over 70+ projects since 97.
What we'll deliver:
- Deliver a creative network hub
- assist artistic development
- reduce crime in the community
- Work with a diverse cultural atmosphere all welcome.
Why it's a great idea:
It as proven itself to work since 1997 and it deserves funding which it never as had, mainly because it was organic and everyone was voluntary including myself.
I raised local support to help fund all the projects and out of my own pocket since 1997.
Steps to get it done:
As well as a stepping stone for many creative individuals and groups bands etc the project aims to assist other community projects who are limited to deliver their own projects - we can work together at basic cost for many local social issue projects and bring more greater awareness to charitable or community led campaigns and become a flagship project that can be repeated by others across the UK cities and towns.
