Our club is starting a new Dynamos programme this summer where children aged 8 to 11 years old can learn to play cricket. Dynamos has simplified rules, a soft ball and guaranteed opportunity to play.
The programme will make cricket accessible for even more children tin our community and provide the next step for those who have taken part in All Stars (the programme for children from 5-8 years old).
What we'll deliver:
- Safeguarding and First Aid Training for Volunteers
- Cost of travel for key training for Activators (club organisers of programme)
- Delivery of Dynamos programme for Summer 2020
Why it's a great idea:
We are eager for even more children to get involved and fall in love with cricket. We also know that non of these programmes can happen without the support of our amazing volunteers.
This campaign helps cover the essential costs needed to support our volunteers to deliver the Dynamos programme.
Steps to get it done:
- Run crowdfunding campaign
- Confirm the number of volunteers we can train
- Once training is finished, delivery Dynamos programme
- Hold a end of season bbq
While our initial target is £200 we need the below elements to fully deliver this programme.
£200 - Parent Engagement Event - a social event one or two weeks (with some food and drinks provided) before the start of your first Dynamos session to meet with parents and explain about all the different roles they can help out with and answer any particular questions they may have.
£100 - Training and Development of Young Volunteers - Many young people aged between 16-25years old will be required to carry out voluntary work as part of their college or university course and this is a great way for you them to gain much needed skills and experience. Funding could be used to cover the costs of specific courses such young officials, foundation level 1, first aid or alternatively cover travel costs and out of pocket expenses.
