I want to help reinvigorate interest in my local village high street and highlight what businesses in the village have to offer

When I moved to Tarvin, it was a thriving village and we didnt need to go into Chester for anything. Since the decline in high streets, we've lost so much but I know the village has so much potential. We have many small businesses both with physical premises but also those who have started working from home, online businesses, pop-ups and all types of businesses providing services and products. I want to create an online portal for our village, almost a virtual high street. I created www.tarvin-village.co.uk when I was only 25 but I want to take this into the 21st century and offer every person with the boundaries of Tarvin a space to sell and promote their products and services to hopefully bring business back into Tarvin and give our local community a boost. I would like to take things further if we can generate income to improve the local community too but that's further down the line.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The project will raise awareness of what is available locally on our doorsteps. This is not only better for the environment with lowering carbon footprints but it will help stimulate the local economy, provide an increased sense of community and help to reinvigorate the high street. I hope this project will help work in conjunction with local amenities to prevent further decline. If we can come up with some kind of funding model that once the system is up and running may generate some income, it would be amazing ti be able to reinvest that in the village. Tat may be in the form of new plants, trees, paying for litter pickers, further promotion of local businesses etc, the scope can grow.
Steps to get it done:
I am a qualified IT technician and have the skills to provide the site and graphics myself but I dont have the funding to get it going. I will be able to host the site but need costs to cover its development, the ongoing costs of hosting and web maintenance. Whilst my own business (self employed) will be the one doing the work, I plan the entire focus to be to the benefit of my village, of which I have been a keen player and avid supporter. It was me who brought broadband to Tarvin back in the 90's through campaigning and I hope to reinstall a sense of community in Tarvin.
