Age UK Westminster has always been at the forefront of support for older people in Westminster and, in these testing times, we need your help more than ever before. Because of the virus, we need to increase our telephone befriending service and start a remote shopping service to deliver food and other basic essentials to older people in their homes. In the coming weeks, demands for our services will increase and we will be working with other community groups and charities to maintain services and reach as many isolated older people as possible. Many of our clients have less than two days’ worth of food at home and are too nervous to go out. Internet shopping is not an option for many of them, so they are reliant on our volunteers delivering urgently needed food and basic essentials.
