To bring Superfast Fibre Broadband to our community/local area.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
The idea is to raise the necessary funds to upgrade cabinet 24 to Stechford telephone exchange to allow the community to have access to fantastic superfast broadband speeds. We will work with Openreach to make this happen as a joint community/openreach venture. Openreach will fund 60% of the project and the community are being asked to contribute £4,684 to aid in the completion and upgrade. --- The current speed averages 2-5Mbps down and 0.4Mbps up, meaning that sometimes it’s impossible to use the internet. For example, it’s not possible to watch Netflix, Youtube or iPlayer when anyone else is using the same connection. Also, uploading files of more than a few megabytes in size is not possible, and working from home via the internet is simply not feasible. ---
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This upgrade will serve our community for years to come and bring about the change way before we would ever be scheduled to receive the upgrade. Every home will access to speeds which will be a vast improvement on what we can currently achieve with the infrastructure that is in plce.
