The Projekt nightclub itself is situated in Bristol's City Centre, Baldwin Street. The day itself will showcase some of Bristol's Best up and coming talent (of which Bristol has lots) - and bring other community music organisations together to showcase their own contributions and services to our young people. Your contribution will help towards workshops (getting the youth ready to perform for you), advertising and promoting this night. Our long term project, in the light of community and youth centres being closed down, Is to create a stable, central creative hub where our youth can work, rest and play.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
So many youth centres are closing down because of lack of funds - we have a slightly different approach.
The Projekt has given us their venue for free, to use for Studio 7 and community-related events. This means no cost to you for the venue. Which in turn means more excellent creative activities can be set up, which will keep our youth engaged, active, nurtured and educated in a positive and nurturing way.
Our Open Day plan is to showcase & invite Bristol to come and view the venue and encourage other youth lead organisations to use it. MY passion is for our Youth and I feel if they can see us coming together to share and unite it will instill a sense of trust, unity and community which in turn will help to make them a little more safe and even inspired - some people say you get nothing for free - in this case community projects that work with young people do. Help us to make it happen for the betterment of all, and lets bring our amazing community together.
Steps to get it done:
My personal agenda is for the young ones to have somewhere that is safe and secure for them to feel free to play and be creative. To develop their confidence, self esteem and sense of community (family) and most of all nurture. A lot of our youth today are being abused, bullied, feeling lost, alone and afraid and this is my way of helping to bring everyone together so we can care for our young ones.
