St Paul's Church & Centre is used for both church and non church events in the community. Our aim is to improve and provide a fit for purpose disabled access by providing an automatic entrance for the disabled and their carers and parents with push chairs/buggies. This will be of benefit to over 300 people every week (comprising of the disabled both young and old, mums and toddlers on pushchairs, those struggling to walk, those on wheel chairs, those taking part in our activities for the community to combat social isolation and build a stronger community and activities provided by other groups such Say Aphasia, those who have suffered stroke ). This is part of a larger project which we have decided to do in phases because of the cost. The overall project will provide a fit for purpose disable access.

What we'll deliver:

  • Initial preparatory work
  • appropriate sketch plans and elevations
  • Dismantling
  • Purchase disable friendly automatic sliding doors
  • Installation of automatic sliding doors

Why it's a great idea:

We seek to be more inclusive by ensuring that our centre is easily accessible and safe for all who currently use it and those who may use it in the future.

Steps to get it done:

  • Further Consultation
  • Fundraising
  • Grant Applications
  • Sketch plan and preparatory work
  • Purchase of automatic doors
  • Demolition and Installation

To improve access to our church and parish centre building (from the east and west of the parish centre). Making them more inclusive, safe and welcoming, as well as offering new facilities so that we are better able to serve our community. This project will provide the necessary upgrading and refurbishment of a busy parish centre and church.
