SMILE has been fundraising for the last 20 years to build the community hall and changing rooms for the village of Stoney Middleton. We have the planning permission in place and have already completed the children's playground part of the scheme. We are really close and just need a final push to achieve the goal the whole village has been waiting for.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The community facility will not just be a venue for parties but the nucleus of daily activities working with all ages and interests in the village to tackle loneliness and isolation which is very prevalent in rural areas due to poor transport, ageing populations, few facilities for people with pre-school children amongst others. It will also help to promote physical activity amongst the age groups and to provide decent facilities for Stoney Middleton Football Club
