The St. Matt's Jubilee Picnic is a celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee - but more than that, it's an effort to engage our local community and draw them together. This event is already engaging with some local schools, with the two Blue Coat's principles on the planning committee. We hope to celebrate our school children with performances. We are also embarking on a new poetry venture within our schools with some workshops, culminating in a series of poetry awards for different age ranges to be celebrated on the day. We also hope to celebrate the multicultural nature of our town with a performance from the Bhangra Boys - a Bhangra band who promise to raise the roof! This event will also serve as a Walsall As One event, promoting community cohesion and organisation.
